Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when booking or using services provided by All Things Blood.

About these terms

These terms apply when you book, purchase or use a service provided by All Things Blood.

Please read them before booking. By making a booking, you agree to the terms that apply to that service.

Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer.

Booking & Payment

The service, price and any applicable home-visit or travel charge will be shown or confirmed before booking.

Payment arrangements may vary depending on the service booked. Where payment is required in advance, your appointment may not be confirmed until the required payment has been successfully made.

Where additional laboratory testing or other charges apply, these will be explained before you proceed.

A booking is subject to availability and to any clinical, practical or documentation requirements that apply to the service.

Home Visits & Travel

Home appointments are available across selected areas of Greater Manchester and surrounding areas.

Published home-visit prices apply to addresses within 5 miles of M28 1PY.

This home-visit price applies to addresses within 5 miles of M28 1PY. For locations outside this area, please contact All Things Blood for a quote before booking.

Availability outside the standard area will be considered individually and any additional travel charge will be confirmed with you.

Clinic appointments do not incur a home-visit travel charge.

Cancellations & Missed Appointments

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be non-refundable or subject to a cancellation fee.

Missed appointments may also be non-refundable.

Exceptional circumstances will be considered individually.

This cancellation policy does not remove any cancellation or refund rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

Online and distance bookings

Where an appointment is booked online, by telephone or otherwise at a distance, you may have statutory cancellation rights in addition to the appointment cancellation policy above.

If you ask us to provide a service during any applicable statutory cancellation period, you may be asked to expressly request that the service begins during that period. Where permitted by law, you may be required to pay for services already supplied if you subsequently cancel.

Once a service has been fully performed following the required request and acknowledgement, any statutory right to cancel that completed service may come to an end.

Children & Consent

All Things Blood offers paediatric phlebotomy from age 5.

For children under 16, consent must be obtained from a parent or person with parental responsibility and the appointment is arranged in advance rather than booked through the normal online route.

Individual circumstances will always be considered. An appointment may be stopped, postponed or rearranged where continuing would not be appropriate or safe.

Blood Collection & Test Results

All Things Blood provides professional blood collection and associated services.

Where laboratory testing is purchased through All Things Blood, samples are sent to the appropriate laboratory for analysis. Results are produced by the laboratory and provided according to the arrangements for the test purchased.

Private blood testing provides information about your health but does not replace medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment.

Abnormal results, ongoing symptoms or concerns about your health should be discussed with your GP or another suitably qualified healthcare professional.

NHS Blood Test Collection

If you book an NHS Blood Test Collection appointment, you must have the appropriate NHS blood request or documentation available where required.

All Things Blood provides the blood-collection service and arranges for samples to be handled in accordance with the applicable arrangements.

Results are returned through the relevant NHS or requesting-clinician process rather than interpreted by All Things Blood.

Private Test Kits

If you already have a private blood-test kit, please have the complete kit and its instructions available for your appointment.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the kit supplied to you is complete unless All Things Blood has specifically agreed otherwise.

We reserve the right not to collect a sample where the documentation, kit, sample requirements, collection requirements or transport arrangements are incomplete, unsuitable or cannot reasonably be followed.

Therapeutic Phlebotomy (Blood Letting)

Therapeutic phlebotomy is provided only where the appropriate criteria and required clinical documentation or instructions have been met.

An enquiry or assessment may therefore be required before an appointment is agreed.

All Things Blood reserves the right not to proceed where the required documentation has not been provided or where proceeding would be unsafe or inappropriate.

Unsuccessful Blood Collection

Although every reasonable effort will be made to obtain the required sample, successful blood collection cannot be guaranteed in every case.

If a suitable sample cannot be obtained, the available options will be discussed with you.

If another appointment is required, any repeat appointment or associated charge will be explained before proceeding.

Laboratory Samples & Repeat Testing

Some blood tests have specific collection, processing, storage, timing and transport requirements.

Occasionally, a laboratory may be unable to analyse a sample, may reject a sample or may request another sample. This can occur for a number of reasons and does not necessarily mean that the blood collection was performed incorrectly.

All Things Blood cannot guarantee that every sample submitted to a laboratory will produce a reportable result.

Where a repeat sample is required, the reason and any applicable repeat appointment or laboratory charge will be discussed with you before a new appointment is arranged.

Changes or cancellation by All Things Blood

Occasionally an appointment may need to be changed or cancelled because of illness, availability, safety concerns, unsuitable documentation or equipment, laboratory requirements or circumstances outside reasonable control.

Where this happens, All Things Blood will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and will arrange an appropriate alternative or refund where applicable.

Medical Emergencies

All Things Blood is not an emergency medical service.

If you believe you or somebody else is experiencing a medical emergency, seek appropriate urgent medical assistance rather than waiting for a blood-test or phlebotomy appointment.

Reasonable care and your consumer rights

Services will be provided with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, and nothing in these terms removes the rights given to consumers by law.

Information you provide

You are responsible for providing information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and for telling All Things Blood about information that is relevant to safely providing the service.

If necessary information, documentation or equipment is missing, an appointment may need to be delayed, changed or cancelled.

Questions and complaints

If you are unsure whether a service is suitable for you, or if you have a question before booking, please contact All Things Blood.

If you are unhappy with a service, please contact us so the concern can be reviewed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in England and Wales.

Nothing in this section affects any mandatory consumer rights regarding where legal proceedings may be brought.

Ask before you book rather than after.
